Our Minneapolis area Chrysler dealership already stocks the stylish and luxurious Chrysler 300 and 200, and now it looks like we'll be gearing up for the 100! Sergio Marchionne confirmed the new vehicle to Automobile Magazine. Speculation is that it will be front wheel drive (no surprise there) and I-4 only.
If Chrysler's plans go as expected, the 100 will be available in 2016, possibly as a 2017 model. Word is that it will be based on the Dodge Dart, have a hatchback, and be compact, which is certainly promising for those concerned about fuel efficiency. Speculation is that it will be an entry-level luxury model, something which provides owners with that luxury and premium feel without breaking the bank.
The auto manufacturer has been focused on reducing redundancies in their lineup, which is a very good thing for our customers. This means that while the new Chrysler 100 may be based on the Dart's platform (which is called the "Compact US Wide" platform and is based on Alfa-Romeo's Giulietta), it will likely be a much different design, offer unique options, and target a different audience.
We'll post more as we learn more, and please come down to our dealership at 314 Mainstreet in Hopkins, MN 55343 to view our new and used cars. You can also browse our new car inventory online here!
